I was fortunate enough to find this gem of a place just a few minutes from the Samburu Reserve gate. It’s about location, location right. The rooms are very nice, everything is spotlessly clean. This is a small lodge and there is a kitchen where the chef will prepare your meal for dining on the quiet back patio. Birds will sing to you while you have your delicious meal. Martine is the perfect host. There is a self service camping facility as well. The lodge is right on the Ewaso Ngorongoro? River canyon. You can hike down and follow some trails. Know that you are in a remote and wild area. They can arrange activities as well.   I highly recommend them.

Hey folks! Archers Post in the north of Kenya … the last stop before the semi-desert of Kenya. An oasis …. a great house, nice rooms … and a good kitchen.|I had two wonderful days at this lodge, & the pool was marvellous!

Great value self catering cottage stay. Everything you need to cook yourself or guesthouse chef can cook for you for extra cost. Good location for 3 parks in area. Secure place. Good communication with host who also has B&B rooms in guesthouse.

Excellent stay! We have very fond memories of our two nights at the Dik-Dik Lodge. Located in Archer’s Post, very close to the Samburu and Buffalo Springs reserves, its garden overlooks the Shaba reserve. During our stay, we were able to visit the Reteti Elephant Sanctuary. The rooms are comfortable, the food is very good, the pool is refreshing, and the welcome is warm. (Translated by Google)

Martine and her team welcomed us like family. It’s a really great place to visit the national park and then relax in the pool. Jonathan cooked for us lovingly. It was always delicious. We won’t forget Christmas 2025 at Dik Dik Lodge anytime soon. Asanta sana!

Martine’s place is probably the best choice for someone coming to Samburu.
1. Martine is a great host and person. She loves wildlife and she will guide you around.
2. The place in itself is beautiful and beautifully located overlooking Shaba National Reserve across the river which you can walk upto.
3. The rooms are comfortable, clean and minimalist.
4. The place is off-grid, yet convenient and comfortable. DO NOT expect a luxury resort service but a nice warm time.
5. A lot of birds and dik-diks can be seen in the property.
6. The place is conveniently located around Samburu and Buffalo Springs reserves. Samburu and BS are one big ecosystem divided by a river but animals are free to roam. We came for Samburu but as the lion pride were on BS the previous evening, we chose to go there instead & what a great decision it was. We saw Samburu special five & the pride of 3 lionesses and 6 cubs.
7. Most importantly, the donkeys – LUNA and MOCHA are love!
Thank you. Would love to come again.

Martine is fantastic. My team stayed over on our way up to and returning from Kalacha from Nairobi. Our first night, an elephant broke into the compound and we had a glorious view before breakfast–safely away from it, of course.
The team here is FANTASTIC and the food is excellent. Very fresh.
When there was a small problem on our return, Martine immediately handled it. Excellent place to stay away from the tourist crowd.

We stayed two nights at the Dikdik lodge and absolutely loved it. It’s a peaceful place, the room is super clean and spacious. Martine and the two donkeys really make you feel at home. We had the half board option and were therefore able to enjoy the wonderful meals prepared by the chef, we even got our breakfast as a to go box to enjoy while doing an early game drive.
Location is great, in the proximity of the Samburu, Buffalo Springs & Shaba national reserves. We highly recommend staying here during your visit to this region!

Martine’s directions in finding the place were spot on. She and the donkeys were very welcoming. 😀 We opted to include the chef’s meals and were not disappointed. If (when!) I return to the area, I would not hesitate to stay here again!

Martine is a welcoming and accommodating host. Impossible to get any closer without being in the national park.
I highly recommend it!

Martine’s place was excellent! As long as you follow her instructions to locate the building it’s easy to find.
It’s worth paying the extra for dinner and/or lunch the food is deliciously prepared by Laurence the chef 🙂 I felt like royalty ☺️

We absolutely adored our time at Martine’s Airbnb! Our safari plans hit a bump when they got canceled last minute, but fear not! Martine swooped in like a superhero and saved the day by hooking us up with last-minute game drives. Thanks to her, we found out about a special local ceremony between tribes that only happens once every 15 years. Unforgettable!
The chef at the airbnb is an amazing cook and they are very flexible in terms of breakfast/dinner times. Martine, thank you for being the ultimate host and making our stay an adventure to remember 🌟🦁🍽️

Martine and her AirBnB are exceptional, with everything brand new and well-maintained. The pool is a perfect escape from the heat and the property is peaceful and natural. Big shared kitchen, and she will even bring in a chef to cook healthy meals. I cannot recommend Dik Dij enough.

Our family had a wonderful weekend at Samburu Dik-Dik Lodge. Martine and Jonathan were lovely. The location was great, just next to the river, which made for a nice walk. The kids loved the pool and the food was really nice. We would visit again!

(Translated by Google) We stayed in the cabin from September 12th to 13th. It was spacious and well-equipped, with a fully equipped kitchen and a large, pleasant porch with a dining table and armchairs for relaxing. The place is very special, and the pool makes the heat more bearable. The location, close to the park entrance, is excellent, and Martine, the host, is friendly and attentive. Thank you, Martine, for your attention.

A great location near the parks and right by the river with its soothing sounds. The self catering cottage (Susek House) is comfortable, clean, very well equipped and has everything you need. The compound has 24 hr security, it’s quiet, relaxing, Luna and Mocha the resident donkeys are great company, coming to visit for rubs when you are at the cottage. The main house, Dik Dik lodge near the river is clean, modern, comfortable, with a deep pool and a great roof terrace with sweeping views of the stunning surrounding landscape. Martine the host is a very kind lady and is always available to help whenever you need it. I highly recommend staying here for a relaxing stress free stay 😊

A lovely lodge. Night sky is beautifully lit up with stars. Wonderful to be outside. Lodge is comfortable, hot at the start of the night, cools off later. You can enjoy more restful sleep in the early hours when the breeze sets in. Lovely patio for a relaxing morning.
